2nd Annual Spring Fling

March 29, 2019 | By: Sara Soukup

Last week ATD hosted our 2nd annual Spring Fling at Rockwood Tap House in Downers Grove. Spring Fling is a great opportunity for field employees, office staff, and management to get together and kick off the upcoming busy season!

With just under 100 employees in attendance it was a great chance for everyone to catch up and for new employees to get to know the All-Tech team. Matt Jachymiak, an ATD employee of 18 years, was our DJ for the night, General Superintendent Mike LeGood was our Emcee, and both kept the room lively and feeling motivated! Along with good music was fantastic food/drinks, and great company!

Thank you to everyone for coming out and making this event a success!!

Women in Construction Week

March 11, 2019 | By: Sara Soukup

In honor of Women in Construction (WIC) week we would like to celebrate the amazing women of All-Tech. The mission of WIC week, created by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), is to enhance the success of women in the construction industry and highlight women as a visible component of the construction industry. Women are not only and essential part of the construction industry, their opportunities within the industry are continuously growing.

When we asked some of the women working directly in the field what it’s like being a woman in the construction industry Safety Director, Brittany Ekena, said “It is fantastic to see more and more women working in construction each year. They bring with them an interesting dynamic that is forcing the industry to change for the better. In addition to the change, women in the industry are constantly breaking barriers to get to their position and force themselves to become strong leaders, excellent mentors for others, and role models for women who think that they don’t have what it takes to shine in a male dominated world”.

Assistant Project Manager, Jessica Helmer, added “Working in construction really has become a source of growth for me both personally and professionally. Through the years I have learned how to problem solve, communicate directly with all different levels of experience, budget jobs, manage jobs, and most importantly set goals. I believe being a woman in construction is a necessary piece of the puzzle, especially in this day in age. All-Tech has encouraged me to show the construction world, one job at a time, that women and do it…. And do it well!”

We are proud to stand behind the women of All-Tech, whether they be working directly in the field or behind the scenes in the office. Keep up the great work ladies!! Chili Cook Off Champions!!

February 25, 2019 | By: Sara Soukup

All-Tech recently took home first place at the 2nd Annual Great Chili Cook Off hosted by ASA Chicago to raise money for Ace Amandla Charter High School. Our very own Director of Business Development, Mark Clemens, was the winning chef (with help from his sous chef, Project Manager Coatings Division, Bob Ruff). Mark is known around the ATD office for his cooking expertise and did not disappoint during the cook off! He prepared a smoked brisket chili that people were lining up to try. The ATD table was also handing out a Mango Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce. Between Mark’s chili and the hot sauce things were really heating up! This event was a fun one (who doesn’t love chili on a cold winter night?)! Thank you to ASA Chicago for hosting and we look forward to returning next year as the defending champs!!

20 Year Celebration!

February 11, 2019 | By: Sara Soukup

This week we hosted a surprise party in honor of 7 employees who have been with All-Tech for over 20 YEARS! The 7 employees (shown left to right with Owner/Vice President Dave Helmer in the middle: Craig Gluszek, Jim Wetter, Tom Sweeney, Ron Fasano, Rich Steadman, and Tom Mandernach) were told they had a safety orientation at the office that afternoon. Once they arrived, they were brought into the ATD conference room where office, shop, and field staff were waiting to surprise them! Each employee received a special edition ATD Carhartt jacket and a framed certificate to commemorate the milestone. Memories and laughs from all the years together were shared over the lunch that followed.

When asked for a few words about what has kept him with All-Tech for so many years, Field Superintendent, Craig Gluszek shared this: “One word…FAMILY! Here at ATD we have created an atmosphere to make everyone feel like we are family and part of a close-knit team. Throughout the years we have kept things UNITED. Bumps and bruises, hitting learning curves, developing our safety culture, and bringing in new faces for continued growth are part of what have built this great company. Don and Dave have set the standard and given us all the platform to succeed. It’s up to us to carry it through, which in turn makes us a step above the rest.”.

Tim Miller was not able to attend as he is currently working on a project located in Florida, but he was able to FaceTime and share the celebration! Many thanks go out to these veteran employees for their years of dedicated service!! We look forward to many, many more years together!!
